We’re on a bit of a comedown after spending a few glorious sunny days at Myres Castle, Auchtermuchty. The TLWC squad was on hand to help Claire and Andrew add some finishing touches to their wedding celebration. It was a brief that we’ve been working on for a while and desperate to see come to life. Think lush botanicals, pretty Spring florals, hints of gold and simple rustic details.
Whilst listening to birdsong, we set about transforming the beautiful Barnquee – this space is pretty spectacular in its own right – but we added detail by bringing the outside in with a collection of small trees and pretty shrubs (the two six foot eucalyptus trees nearly made us weep with joy), lining the walls with a leafy tropical wallpaper, hanging a mixture of white and gently coloured lanterns (some hand painted to match the bride’s colour palette) and arranging a seating area, which looked out over the stunning gardens, with our beloved Eva Green as the star of the show.
The couple also asked us to add some touches to their outdoor ceremony space. The headlining acts – our copper arch, draped in greens (by the talented Blue Poppy) and surrounded by our collection of lanterns and the first outing for our vintage bike – Black Beauty. The wicker basket was full to the brim with mixed foliage and it provided to perfect backdrop for the cards and gift area. Oh and we also spread our blanket love across all the benches to keep guests warm and toasty. To finish off the whole look, Blue Poppy, added four towering churns full to the brim with beautiful Spring flowers.
The Apple Store
Last but by no means least, we created a bit of a whisky den in The Apple Store. Comfy leather sofas, felt covered cards tables and our globe bar set the scene for this late night hang out area. We also got proper prop envy at the site of Lazy Sunday’s piano bar – do check it out!
We hope to return to Myres Castle very soon and cannot wait to see the professional shots taken by Sarah Jane Ethan.
